Landlords and Property Managers:
Are you willing rent to households who have rental barriers such as a past evictions, criminal histories, or poor credit - often due to extenuating circumstances such as an illness, divorce, or another hardship? If so, have you considered partnering with Open Doors? Open Doors connects participating properties to housing assistance providers through exchange of availability information and customer referrals. Over 3,000 households have been placed in Open Doors partner properites through various housing programs since late 2012, with the majority being veterans and families with children. Participating service providers will send you referrals whose income or background issues have been vetted in advance along with housing assistance (vouchers and case management) to support their stable tenancy.
